Lodestone

Lodestone 6826

• 6.8 * 2.65 mm • Laser-welded grade 4 titanium • Sm2Co17 • In collaboration with Duck! Disclaimer: While these are currently being used by multiple people, including Axel themselves, with no issues whatsoever, we do not take any responsibility for the use one might make of these magnets and do not encourage any in vivo applications. This is biohacking. Use responsibly and at your own risk. About sterilization and heat: The magnets come individually packaged and sterile in an autoclave pouch. Sm2Co17 can tolerate higher temperatures and, therefore, can be autoclaved. Maximum temperature 138°C. Recommended more than 20 minutes at 121°C. Do not use: • Dry heat sterilization • Radiation sterilization • Formaldehyde • Ethylene oxide sterilization • Plasma sterilization. About the magnet: Thanks to an awesome collaboration with biohacker Duck, we bring you these titanium-encased, Sm2Co17! Axially magnetized, meaning the poles are on the flat faces. They are sealed inside a laser-welded Grade 4 titanium case that is designed to last a lifetime. Contrary to other lodestone magnets, these are entirely smooth. About performance: While Sm2Co17 is not the strongest available magnet type (N52), the extra thin case means very little of the overall mass is wasted in non-magnetic casing. Not only does this maximize the amount of magnetic material, making it stronger for its size, but it also minimizes the distance between the surface and the magnet for a stronger pull force. One of the main reasons for choosing Sm2Co17 is its relatively high heat tolerance. This allows for the ultra-thin titanium case to be laser welded without damaging it and for it to be sterilized using a simple autoclave! This solves both the difficulties in manufacturing and the ability for the end user to sterilize it at the nearest professional.
